Cooling Down in Wawa Dam

It’s the time of year once again, in a tropical country like the Philippines, where people find ways to escape the summer heat. People go to the beach or take a dip to the pool. For people living near Rodriguez in Rizal Province, usually from Quezon City and Marikina, an alternative is to visit Wawa Dam (Montalban Dam). The dam is no longer operational since it was replaced by Angat Dam. Today, people spend time to enjoy the cool waters from the dam. And during summer, makeshift bamboo cottages are set up a few meters from the toe of the dam. This can be rented for P100 to P150.
